Tast of the Inside: Sneaking between the pages #2

Well it's Tuesday. You know what that means... a new teaser. Yay!!! If you haven't noticed I decided to change the title of this little segment to Taste of the Inside. I figured since my two loves are food and books I thought I would mush the two. What do you think? 

Last week I gave you a very juicy peek at Deceived book 2 in The Jade Ring Series, if you missed it check it out here. And today you may be hoping for another juicy tidbit, but unfortunately I am going to have to break your heart a little today... no I won't post anything mean. Instead I am going to take a step back from posting strictly teasers from my current WIP and give some teasers from Guided as well. After all, it is the book that started it all.

A little piece of Guided... In this scene Jo get's her first taste of how Angel's travel, enjoy.

“Are you ready?” Jasper asked, squeezing my hand.

“Ready for what?” I asked with a hint of fear. Where exactly was he taking me? What if he was taking me to his place? Oh crap, crap, crap!

He fought to contain his laugh but his eyes danced with it anyway.

I felt Jasper’s hand tighten and then I was falling, rushing through a tunnel with a small glimmer of light ahead. My body flew towards the light and panic seized me when I realized that the hole was the size of a marble and I was heading right for it. Before I knew it I was sucked through the hole, which oddly enough didn’t hurt.

My knees buckled once I hit solid ground. Jasper never let go of my hand and caught me before I even hit the ground. He gently sat me down. “What the hell was that?” I asked, throwing my hair from my face. “I feel like I just got shoved through a hole the size of a toothpick.”

“Actually it’s more like the size of a bullet hole.”

I glared at him.

He laughed. “Sorry. Everyone feels that way the first time they travel by stellarportation,” Jasper said, kneeling next to me. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, but I don’t like stellar-port-whatever,” I said trying to get up. “I’m not kidding, that was totally weird. I don’t want to do that again.”

“Hate to break it to you, but stellarportation is the only way out of here.” Jasper smiled.

“Yay!” I said non-enthusiastically.

Taste Tuesday ~ Deceived

Well it's that time again and yet again I have been a bad author and haven't posted a teaser in a while. Then again I haven't written much either. On my blog or book or anything. But I finally broke my dry spell and got some words down... and they were good! Well I think they are good. I hope you do too.

**** A Taste of Deceived book 2 in The Jade Ring Series****

“It’s okay Jasper, I’m here,” she said placing her hand over my heart. “And I’m not going anywhere.” She had no idea, how much she really was in my heart.

I nodded like an idiot realizing that she couldn’t see my reply in the dark. “Okay.”

Okay? Really, is that all you can come up with Romeo? Tell her… something. Anything besides okay.

Jo chuckled. I wanted to kiss her. Strong. Fierce. Breathless. She wanted it too. The possibility both scared and excited her. Which in turn made me scared and excited. I brushed my thumb along her jaw and stared at the outline of her lips. Her hand moved up my chest and left a trail of fire in its path to my neck. She gently pulled on my neck encouraging me to complete the distance between us. I froze. Unsure if this was the best thing to do. It was so soon. I swallowed. Hard.

When I didn’t move closer Jo pushed me back, straddled my legs and kissed me. Hard and fast. And I was lost. She kissed me with passion and desire that made my head spin. I wrapped her in my arms and pulled her closer. Until there was only clothes separating us. I wound my hand in her hair and kissed her like I would never get another chance. I put everything into that kiss. My hopes, dreams, and love.

Tuesday Tease~ Jaded

I missed last week, big surprise huh? These Tuesday's sneak up on me every time. Frankly I don't know how they do it. I spend all day Monday waiting for Tuesday and then BAM! Tuesday passed and I completely missed it. Oh well, I remembered this week so that counts for something right? Right.

But last Tuesday wasn't a total loss. If you don't already know my book Guided was on tour last week. And if you don't know check out the link here to see all the stops and enter the Giveaways.

As you may know I have been hard at work on Deceived book 2 in The Jade Ring Series and as I said on another post I am also writing a prequel to Guided, about the years that Jasper is assigned to watch over Jo. It is all from his POV and will give you a great look at why Jasper is the way he is. I am having a lot of fun writing this one, so naturally your Tease today is going to come from Jaded.

And now I give you an excerpt from Jaded....

The barista turned to walk away, but not before reaching across the table right next to us, being sure to show Titius exactly what he would be getting later. Titius bit his lip as she wiped down the table.

“Um, hm, hm. Why don’t I come down here more often?”

“If you like I can leave so you can bang her right here on the table. I mean why wait.” I goaded him. Of all The Council members he was the one that got under my skin the most.

Titius turned his hard stare on me. “You don’t like me do you Jasper?” The way he said my name made it sound like it was acid on his tongue. I can see the feeling is mutual.

I sit back and cross my arms over my chest. “What do you want Titius? You called this little meeting, remember?”

“I have a new assignment for you,” he states sliding the envelope across the table.

I pick up the envelope more curious than anything. This is not how assignments were doled out. Usually you are summoned before The Council and the job is dealt. To say this is a little unorthodox would be the understatement of the century.

“We may have a bit of a situation. A new witch has come on the radar.” I skim through the contents of the envelope. It’s a picture of a girl and a slip of paper with an address on it.

“So? Get one of your loyal minions to Guide her. I have enough shit on my plate at the moment,” I scoff sliding the envelope back across the table.

“I don’t want just anyone to Guide her Jasper. I need someone who knows what they are doing on her. Besides, she’s special.” Titius paused. He knew I would bite.

“Why is this one so special?” I ask even though I know I am going to regret it.

“Because she is a Hannigan.” And like that, I’m in. I lean forward in my chair, placing my forearms on the top of the table. “Interested now?”

Guided is on Tour

Well it's official, Guided is on tour. I feel like there should be cake, but there isn't. There are a bunch of awesome bloggers and authors sharing things from me and my book though, which is way better. That's right some very awesome people are allowing me to take over their sites for a day. I feel incredibly honored they all took time out of their schedules to pimp my book. I am still a little flabbergasted about the idea of writing a book, so thinking about my book being on tour is even more unimaginable. But it's happening, so there is no denying it now.

A Real Tuesday Tease

Well it's Tuesday. And that means I get to give you a new teaser from Deceived. *rubs hands* And that makes me incredibly happy. Why you ask? Well because it means I get to share the goodness with all of you.

I am really enjoying writing in Jasper's POV. In fact I like it so much that I may be writing a prequel to the series entirely in his POV. Awesome right??? I know you all want to know about his past, so I am going to play the role of the nice author and give it to you. Now you won't get everything of course, but you will get to know Jasper on a level that only I know him and I can't wait to share it with you.

Currently I am only about 1700 words into the story but I am having an absolute blast channeling who Jasper was before Jo. Once I have more written I will start sharing teasers from it as well. For now I will leave you with a name... the title... Jaded.

Thursday Delight

Recently it came to my attention that yesterday was Wednesday... yup, Wednesday. That means that I missed Tuesday. It completely flew right by me. Which also means you didn't get a teaser from Deceived like I promised. I don't know how I missed the fact that Tuesday already happened, but to make it up to you I'm going to give you 2 teaser's today! Yay!!

Please keep in mind that the following teaser's have not been edited and may change for the final version.

Teaser #2 is well just because...

“Okay,” I said a little confused. What events didn’t she see? She’s the freaking Oracle for crying out loud, how can she not see everything?

Astral chuckled. “I know you are frustrated with the method Jasper and wonder how I can not see everything, but for now I ask you to trust me. Everything will be revealed soon.”

I stared dumbly at Astral. What could I say? It was the truth. I did doubt her. The question now was could I trust her? I looked at her swirling violet eyes and it felt like she was measuring my soul as I was determining her trust, but I knew I could trust her. With this anyway.

A Taste of Deceived

Well, it's Tuesday and I have decided to join the author party and share a little taste of what I've been working on. Recently I published my first book, Guided and since I left my readers on a bit of a cliffhanger I decided to reward those readers with a teaser from book 2, Deceived today.

I am having a lot of fun with this book. Things are happening, great things. Of course I can't tell you those things just yet, but I can tell you that it is going to be awesome.

New Site

Well I did it. I have finally created a site dedicated to my writing. A place where I can share all my writing fancies. Be prepared, it could get a little scary around here. Hopefully more funny than scary, I know at times I'll be scared.
